The City of Love....Paris

Photobucket

Everyone who has children tells young married couples the same thing..TRAVEL BEFORE YOU HAVE A BABY. With our second anniversary just one month away, the hubs and I have been hearing this for about 2 years. Although we would politely nod our heads yes and mindlessly say "I know" each time we would hear these words of wisdom, I don't think they really sunk into our heads or our way of thinking. I think deep down we both thought we would have no problem leaving our future baby or babies with their grandparents and taking off on a vacation. The reality is that both of our parents have their hands full with their current 4 grandchildren thanks to our sisters. The harsher reality is the fact that our parents are not getting any younger and I just don't think they will have the energy and patience to watch a child for a week or more 24/7.
On an even more personal note, the baby thing is just not happening. I am beginning to at least try and believe that there is a reason for it not happening now and maybe the reason is that we need to pack our bags, renew my passport and go see at least some of the World. Don't get me wrong, I plan to take trips with our children one day, I just don't think toting an infant around sight seeing is ideal.
So I have decided (and by default so has the hubs) that 2011 will be the year we go visit The City of Love, Paris. I haven't been to Paris in 10 years since my mom and I went to celebrate my 18th birthday and high school graduation. Also, I have been dreaming to go back since Mr. Big showed up and finally told Carrie she's "the one" at the end of the Sex and the City television series.

I actually first dreamt of finding a love like that, which I still can't believe I did and now that I have it, I want to go there with him. Life just passes too quickly. I feel that if we keep waiting around for the right time, 10 years are going to pass and we will be looking at each other thinking why didn't we ever go?
So I am taking action! Sure Spring 2011 is still far away, but really it isn't. I am starting my research and trying to narrow down exactly where we should go.

Have any of you ever been to France? Any ideas or tips to share would be greatly appreciated!

On the Catwalk....Sin City!

Our second night in Vegas we went to a lounge called Taboo in the MGM hotel. It's been there forever so it wasn't as grossly packed as all the newer clubs and lounges. We had our own little area reserved where we could sit and observe all the bumping and grinding going on right before our eyes. It was an interesting site to see, but now on to what you all really want to see, what I wore....

Is it Friday yet?

On the Catwalk....Vegas Style

I'm back! Vegas was a lot of fun but really exhausting. I swear I felt old watching all those 21 year old girls dressed like wh*res and all the douchey guys being exactly what they are...douchey. Overall it was a great trip, it's always different when husbands and boyfriends are with you. When it's a group of girls we just walk right up the bouncer at a bar, club, lounge etc. Smile and basically walk right in. With the guys, there's always the need to pay ridiculous amounts of $$ for a table with bottle service. So it is a little more difficult. Not to mention the fact that dear hubby almost got into a fight because this drunk douche was harassing us girls and tried to grab some of our butts. Classy I know. Thankfully, hubs got him kicked out instead. On that note, here is my outfit from the first night out.

Sin City Here We Come!

Photobucket

In just a few short hours a Southwest Airlines flight attendant will be asking me if I'd like peanuts or pretzels as the hubs and I sit through our quick 50 min flight to reach our destination...Vegas! Some of our friends are on an earlier flight and will get the party started so we are all ready to go when we get there. I honestly just can't wait to lounge by the pool and sip champagne.
Different people look forward to Vegas for different reasons. Some gamble, some party (they don't call it Sin City for nothing)...I like to think of Vegas as the Drunk Shopping Capital of the U.S. if not the World. I have always thought that malls should be open 24/7, well Vegas shopping is the next best thing. For someone who doesn't gamble, it is pretty awesome to be able to walk into a boutique at 10pm and walk out with some fab shoes. Add some drinks to that scenario and things could get really fun and interesting.
It's been a rough few weeks, so I definitely need to de-stress and shut my brain off so I don't think so much.
There will be many photo ops this weekend, so all of you can look forward to seeing most of the details of my trip and of course my outfits.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Vegas Memories

Since I am on this ridiculous 3 Month Challenge I can't shop any of the sales and I feel like an addict torturing myself looking at shoes over and over again online. One month down, two to go, why did I do this to myself I have no idea.
We leave for Vegas next Thursday night and I'm soooo excited to get out of town. To distract myself, I decided to take a trip down memory lane from Vegas trips in the past. I'm a little bummed I couldn't find pics from every trip but here are a few. Please excuse some of the poor fashion choices. My taste didn't not become what it is now overnight, it was a work in progress. So here we go.....

May 2005- I want my tan back! and yes I use to have dark hair (it was dyed)
Photobucket

November 2005- Can't believe I wore that "dress"
Photobucket

August 2007- Hmmm rhinestones and white shorts at night, just don't think I'd wear this now.
Photobucket

September 2009- My besty and I will have many more of these pics coming next week!
