I have been in a Christmacoma for what seems like forever, really since last week. You would think that having a four day weekend would make me feel energized, but in reality every day started at about 7am and ended around 2am. By Sunday I was exhausted and felt like I was getting sick, sure enough I spent Monday and Tuesday of this week home in my pjs. While that sounds great, I'm not the type of person who can just lay around all day every day. I get very tired, sleepy, depressed and well I fell into a Christmacoma. With the holidays being so busy, I have completely fallen off my pilates and exercise wagon. As mush as I tried to eat well, I love food too much and now I just feel like I am slipping down lower and lower on a very slippery slope. I'm sure all of this has added to my Christmacoma and I feel like I have fallen and I can't get up.
Tonight it's New Year's Eve! I'm hoping and praying to drag myself out of my funk. I'm stuck at work until 4pm, which means I have about 30 minutes to get dolled up and head out the door with my dear hubby. Thankfully, I blew out my hair last night and the outfit is already planned. We have a stop to make on our way to a romantic NYE dinner for two at BLT. Don't know what the rest of the night has in store for us, but we will see where we end up.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year's Eve!
Good bye 2009, hello 2010!

The One that Got Away..but then Returned!
A few weeks ago, I posted about all my great fall sales' haul. After having some time to swoon over all my newly acquired treasures, the guilt started to kick in and I decided to return the Christian Louboutin Nitoinimoi booties back to Barneys. Even at 40% off, I still couldn't justify keeping them. Well.....after having a weekend to think about it, I started to regret returning them. The regret became this ridiculously loud voice in my head when Barney's marked their designer shoes down with an additional 33% off on December 22nd! I immediately called Barney's in Beverly Hills, asking if they still had the ones I returned less then a week ago. I was told someone would call me back, but the whole day passed and no phone call. In the mean time, I called every Barneys in the country and was told repeatedly that they are completely sold out of these boots. The morning of the 23rd, I decided to give Barneys in BH another try. A sales associate answered the phone, I gave her a brief run down of the situation, she put me on hold for a few minutes, but came back on the line to tell me she had my boots!!!! My happiness was short-lived, because this woman went on to tell me that they aren't on sale, they are full price. I politely explained to her that I had bought them during first cut and that they are definitely on sale at every Barneys department store in the United States. She told me I "got lucky" getting them on sale the first time, but she could not sell them to me for the sale price. I swear I think I went temporarily insane or I was in shock because I didn't continue to argue; I just hung up. After about 25 minutes I came back to reality and decided to call back. I figured if she answered, I'd ask for a manager, but if someone else answered, I'd try again. After a few rings, I heard a kind male voice on the other end and I knew there was hope. I politely rehashed the entire saga to him and after being placed on hold for what seemed like eternity, he returned....with my shoes for almost 65%off!!!!! I was not about to lose these babies again, so I paid over the phone and raced over the hill to BH after work to pick them up. I swear I couldn't believe I had them back until I was actually holding them. This was definitely a great Christmas gift for myself! Whoever said "Never mess with a woman's shoes" definitely knew what they were talking about...

On the Catwalk
Friday night the hubs and I went to our friend's birthday party at Villa in West Hollywood. The last time I was there, it was called something else, so I was interested in checking the place out. We got there pretty early since we were with a large group. The place filled up quickly. It isn't a very big place. Upstairs there's a few tables and couches for bottle service, the stairs are the steepest stairs I have ever seen and I can't believe no one fell down. The downstairs consisted of a bar, tiny dance floor and a few more couches. It got so packed you could not walk from one end of the room to the other. The crowd was okay, the usual LA crowd. Around midnight we went out front for some air, just in time to see Nikki Hilton and sweaty gross Brandon Davis hopping out of a car and heading into Villa. Next up Tila Tequila and her girlfriend? Fiancee? Who knows. By the time we went back in, there was no room to breathe and it was time for us to go home. So here'a look at what I wore Friday night

A Tribute to My Favorite NYC Girls
photo
I have been a SoCal girl my entire life, but something about NYC just makes my heart flutter. I have physically only been there one time this past March with the hubs, but thanks to my four fabulous friends; Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha, I feel like I have been there several times. I don't know what it is, but I can really watch every episode of Sex and the City over and over again. The energy of that city, the fashion, the shoes, the friendships, the love...I can go on forever. It all just touches my heart and makes me fall in love with NYC and the women of SATC.
This show is the reason why I know what "frenemies" are why every time I see a new pair of shoes that I am in love with the words "hello lover" just come spilling out of my mouth. SATC has also become a bonding tradition with my girlfriends and also with my mom and sister. I can't even count how many marathons we have had watching from season 1 through season 6. The most memorable event was probably going to watch SATC the Movie on opening night. I bought 15 tickets a month or so in advance and we all met up after work on opening Friday night. We sat in line for about two hours, but no one cared because we had plenty of sangria to keep us giggling and excited ready to go watch our New York gals on the big screen. It was a great night and a very fond memory that I will never forget. This coming May, we plan to do it all over again and I can't wait! Until then I think I will make use of my dvds quite a few times.

On the Catwalk
The other night the hubs, some of our friends and yours truly headed out to West Hollywood to check out some bands that were playing at the Troubadour.
I decided to go with a little rock n roll vibe and put together this outfit. You know when you randomly picture an outfit in your mind and you just know it will all go perfectly together? That is exactly what happened. Take a look...
The fur and suede vest is about as old as I am. It use to be my mom's and my grandma brought it for her from her trip to Spain in the 80s. My black silky tank is from this great little boutique in Encino called Blush. The jeans are from Gap's new 1969 Premium Jeans line. They are seriously my favorite pair of jeans right now and you can't beat the price at $69.50! My gray suede booties are by Jessica Simpson and they are just so hot I love them.
Here is a closer look at my Rebecca Minkoff "Beloved Mini" that I got from Aster Alice. The leather is so soft and buttery, I love it! You can wear it as a crossbody bag too and it works with every outfit!

On the Catwalk
My two dear friends The Alleged Ringleader and Lilo had a fabulous Christmas party Saturday night. Though it was raining like crazy here in SoCal, I refused to let that get in the way of my fantastic outfit I had planned.
The LBD is the great find from Black Friday. Definitely looks so much better on!
The gorgeous shoes are one of my latest Christian Louboutin sale finds from the fall designer sales.
Thankfully they are Patent leather...my CLs wont let a little bit of rain get in the way.
Sweet Dreams!

On the Catwalk
Happy Holidays! With all my new foot candy safely in my closet, dressing up for all the holiday events is going to be very exciting. This past Sunday my whole family came over for a Christmas party and I cooked for 22 people. It was very exhausting and hectic. But I think my outfit made up for all of that.
I had been stalking this gorgeous Nanette Lepore "Dinner at Eight" top for the past few months. I loved it, but I refused to pay full price ($248). Well my patience paid off because I waited and I did find it on sale at Bloomingdale's. Plus I had a gift card so I paid a grand total of $30 for a $248 top. Not too bad. The slacks are wide leg trousers from Banana Republic that I've had forever. Love them.
And last but certainly not least are the two pieces of heaven on my feet. My Christian Louboutin Biancas in "Rouge" that I stumbled upon on Blue Fly last month.
Sweet Dreams!!!

On the job- Black Friday shopping!
Yes I am crazy and I actually like to go shopping on Black Friday. And yes I did actually drag my poor husband along too. I don’t know what it is, but I truly feel like it’s the first day of the holiday season and I get really excited. I don’t necessarily shop, but I like to see all the people out and about. Our day started at 8am when hubs actually dragged me to a hardware store for some crazy early morning deals. He was very excited and it was cute. I on the other hand, was probably the only female in that entire store and had all these middle-aged men looking at me wondering wtf I was doing there at 8am. This part of our adventure was over rather quickly, considering we knew exactly what we were there for, found it, paid for it and we were out. Next we were off to what hubs refers to as my second home. All I really was looking for was a LBD to dress up or down for all the various holiday events coming up. The Neiman’s Black Friday sale was pretty disappointing. The sale racks were pretty packed, but the discount was nothing to get excited about. This was however a blessing in disguise because we stumbled upon this boutique right outside of Neiman’s that I had never even seen before. I saw this black dress in the window and it was even cuter on. Not only did I love it a lot more then anything I tried on at Neiman’s, but at $50 it was also a fraction of the price of any of the other dresses. Woohoo for me! This picture doesn't capture the details of the skirt. It is strapless and the skirt is all little square pieces of fabric all together. It actually reminded me this skirt from Ann Taylor
Like I said, it is so much cuter on. I will post more pictures when I wear it out this weekened!

Out on the job- Sale hunting!
Every year at this time the crème de la crème of professional shoppers are out and about scouring the department stores and designer boutiques trying to find the best for the least. That’s right, it’s fall designer sales time. While we are just barely getting our first glimpse of winter here in SoCal, designers are already geared up for resort, cruise and spring collections. Good news for us! With marked downs up to 40% off (higher mark downs as we roll into the end of December and January) who can resist a few new pairs of shoes? I sure can’t. Take a look at what I scored this sale season from Barneys, Bluefly and Nordies. I have realized that while I do not have an addiction to cigarettes, alcohol or sex....I definitely have an addiction to Christian Louboutin shoes. Enjoy the photos, I like to refer to them as shoe porn; once you start there's no stopping you. Look slowly because the self inflicted shoe ban is in full affect as of last week.

Welcome to my Wonderland
Growing up and living in beautiful southern California kind of makes any girl want to reach for the stars and just maybe create her own version of a Hollywood love story. In my case, I was lucky enough to find two loves. The first, my amazing husband of a year and a half. The second, my wonderland; my closet.
Let me start by saying all the signs were there from the very beginning, so my parents were forewarned. My mom loves to tell me about the time we were shopping at Nordstrom when I was two. We were in the women’s shoe department when I got out of my stroller, took off my little pink sandals and proceeded to “try” on every shoe on display. For the past 27 years that love and passion for shoes has changed, grown and evolved to include handbags and clothing. My taste has changed quite a bit and I’m sure it will continue to change through out the years. But for now, without further adieu, here is a glimpse into my Wonderland……
Please excuse the boy shoes....I do have to share part of the closet with the hubs....
I heart DVF......
The tower of bags!
I always knew Cinderella was one smart girl
Some of my favorite loves...they make my heart flutter
This is just a preview of lots more to come. I hope you all enjoy this glimpse into my Wonderland and come back for a lot more!
