On the Catwalk...The Empire Hotel

Photobucket
All Gossip Girl fans should recognize this famous landmark as Chuck Bass's latest aquisition. All Sex and the City fans will see a glimpse inside this beautiful hotel in the upcoming sequel coming out in May. Until then, some quick pictures of The Empire Hotel....

On our second night in NYC, two SoCal girls decided to check out The Empire. Located between Lincoln Center and Central Park, this Midtown hotel is a prime location with amazing views. We had heard about the Gossip Girl inspired drinks and boy did they not disappoint. The Strawberry Breeze was just amazing and oh so pretty. I'm sure being at the Empire in the Spring or Summer would be nothing less then fabulous.

On the Catwalk....Meatpacking District NYC

I'm back!!! Sorry for such a delay, I got back from NYC on Monday and literally needed a few days to recuperate. That should tell you all what an amazing time we had. My adventures in NYC will be taking over the next few posts, so I hope you all enjoy them. I will start with our first night out in NYC. We had a delicious dinner at Buddakan in the Meatpacking District. I love this place, I can never get enough of their amazing food and fantastic cocktails. The signature cocktails have names like Fate and Tranquility. Very zen-like, which is the vibe of the restaurant in general. The Chili Crab and Longevity Noodles were so yummy. Here is a glimpse into our fab dinner

Deviled Tuna Tartare, Yellowtail Yu Sheng and Chili Rock Shrimp.

Some of you might recognize this gorgeous set up from Sex and the City the Movie
. Sidenote, I had a fabulous picture of myself to post here but I'm an idiot and I deleted it by mistake. FAIL.

Moving on as we wandered around the Meatpacking District, trying to keep our balance in 5 inch heels on the freakin cobblestones, we stumbled (literally) upon this hilarious poster.

We ended up at the Hotel Gansevoort, had some drinks at The Loft on the roof top. Pretty view, questionable crowd, but what can you do?

These aren't great pictures, all the lights were just not cooperating with the camera.
Here are some way better pics of us in the oh so pretty lobby, I love all the colors.

NYC here I come!

Photobucket

I'm all packed and ready to go! I'm sure I will have a lot of great stories and hopefully plenty of Catwalk posts for you all. I'm so excited to spend some quality time with one of my favorite people, The Alleged Ringleader aka Travel Agent Extraodinaire. Not to mention some day time love with some of my favorite men...Christian, Louis, Jimmy... and some lady love for my girls DVF, Tory, Catherine....

I have a few hours to kill tomorrow night, hopefully I wont be roaming around like a hooker for too long before my partner in partying arrives so we can check in to the hotel.
Wish me luck!

On the Catwalk....Valentine's Day

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of posts. Last week was really busy, but I will be making up for that very soon because I leave for NYC on Friday! The hubs and I had a very ridiculous, but entertaining Valentine's dinner Saturday night. We had been given a gift card to this restaurant called Palate. Why oh why we have no idea! The place was a joke. If you like wine (we do) then yes they have mile long lists of wine. But if you a) love food (we do) and b) like to understand what you are ordering (we do) this is not the place for you. The dinner menu had literally 5 options and we couldn't understand anything passed "grilled steak" or "Branzino fish" in the entree descriptions. We have been to many fabulous restaurants, but we could actually read the menus at these other places, not to mention they had more options. Needless to say we were laughing hysterically at how ridiculous this place was and wont be going back.
Here are some pics of my outfit, the photo quality sucks because we were in a rush, sorry!

I'm wearing this new super cute black sweater with lace detail from Forever 21, black flared Rachel Pally pants, Chanel charm necklace, my beloved Christian Louboutin Rouge Biancas and my Fendi black lambskin spy bag.
Again, sorry for the bad pics. Hope this will tie you all over, until I get to post my FAB Catwalk posts from NYC later this week!
Even after having Monday off, today still feels like a Monday, which means it still sucks. At least it is pretty out and hopefully the day will pass somewhat quickly. Xoxo.

Dear Chanel, Our love is just not meant to be....

Photobucket
Photo found here

I think every fashion obsessed girl dreams of that one day when she will own her very first Chanel handbag. I think I was being somewhat practical when I said I would only want one to own forever. A Timeless Classic Jumbo in black caviar leather with silver hardware. Well this "goal" has quickly become a love that is simply just not to be.

If the latest Chanel price increases are a preview of what is yet to come, then I can almost be positive that a Chanel handbag will not call my closet home. I already couldn't fathom the idea of spending this much on one bag, but the Jumbo just went from $2650 to $2850! With SoCal tax, that is a grand total of $3128!!!!! If I even had that much to spend at once for shopping, I think I'd have a mild heart attack while paying. Yes I know, the cost of this one gorgeous bag is the same as a few pairs of designer shoes, but for some reason I think my husband can stomach the shoe prices more then the Chanel price. I am forgetting to mention the huge factor, that even if I could buy the bag of all bags, finding it is almost impossible at this point. As mentioned over at Madison Avenue Spy the Chanel inventory is down to nothing. Waitlists have names well into the 100s if not higher.

So my dear Chanel, I will just have to love you from afar. Drool over collections like Purse Addict's. I will dream of what could have been, but then I will look down at my fabulous shoes and remember that my first love was there all along.

Happy Monday guys! (I'd rather be home, but what can we do?) I haven't been out to anywhere exciting in over a month, On the Catwalk posts will return soon I promise!

Xoxo

Friday Lust List...I Love you, but only on sale

I love both of these, but I really would never pay full price for them.

Photobucket

These Miu Miu jeweled flats are beautiful, but the price tag of $585, is not. At least, not for flats in my opinion. I will keep an eye on these and wait for sale time. If they are 40-50% off I will grab them.

By now, you can all tell how much I love DVF. This dress would be perfect for Wedding season, but I don't necessarily need it.
Photobucket
The Josun strapless mini dress is approximately $950 and just so not in my DVF budget. I know I spend ridiculous amounts of money on my shoes, but I take more chances with finding clothing on sale then I do with shoes that I absolutely am in love with. I will patiently wait and who knows, maybe the fashion Gods will decide this dress needs to join my DVF family.

Happy Friday! It's raining in SoCal again, but don't panic! Drive safely and we will see sunshine again shortly!

His & Hers

Photobucket

This post is dedicated to my amazing husband and fellow shoe fanatic. When his newest Jordans arrived, the first words out of my mouth were "They have red soles!" He nearly fell over laughing. I couldn't resist, I had to have a mini photo shoot for a side by side portrait. Between his Jordan collection and my CL collection, I think we will soon need another closet.

Enjoy the eye candy, which ever your preference.
